Stratford Partnership for Youth and Families in collaboration with the Stratford Police Department’s Police Explorers participated in their annual “Sticker Shock” initiative on Thursday, April 20, 2017.

During this upcoming prom and graduation season, the Stratford Partnership for Youth and Families has partnered with local alcohol retailers to spread the word that individuals must be 21 to purchase alcohol and the consequences of providing alcohol to minors. The “Sticker Shock” campaign consists of stickers being adhered to multi-packs of alcoholic beverages (beer, wine coolers, etc.) in participating retail stores reminding adults of the consequences of providing alcohol to a minor.

There were three local alcohol retailers which participated in this year’s Sticker Shock Campaign:

  • The House of Spirits
  • South Main Package
  • 7-11 on Paradise Green

Albert from The House of Spirits elaborated on their social responsibility to the community and the dangers of underage drinking. Albert keeps the ‘WARNING’ sticker on the cooler door and adhered to the register all year long.
