Accomplishments 2015-16
  • Received 2015 Lighthouse Award for “Outstanding Dedication and Volunteer Service to the Town of Stratford” from the Stratford Community Fund
  • Conducted a Youth Committee Overnight Retreat, which included team and relationship building and building Assets as Asset Ambassadors
  • Launched #RxEffect, a social media campaign to raise awareness about prescription drug misuse and abuse, reaching a total of over 8,000 individuals
  • Welcomed Captain Cynthia Rubio, SAMHSA Project Officer for a Site Visit
  • Produced a video PSA to inform youth about the consequences of driving under the influence of marijuana
  • Distributed information about the Partnership and its work at school and community events such as School Open Houses, Main Street Festival, Latin Music Festival, Pumpkin Festival, Holiday Tree Lighting
  • Implemented High School Health Fairs in collaboration with the Stratford Health Department
  • Presented about the Coalition and its work to over 800 community members, including civic clubs, PTAs, school personnel, and the Chamber of Commerce
  • Supported alcohol and tobacco compliance checks conducted by Stratford Police Department 
  • Implemented the third annual Freshman Forum, an underage drinking and marijuana use prevention forum for all 9th grade students and their families
  • Collected and properly disposed of 2,719.2 pounds of medication at Stratford Police Department Medication Drop Box since October 2013
  • Implemented Movin’ On Up for rising 6th graders and their families
  • Launched a new website,, along with the new Partnership brand 
  • Piloted “Safe Homes, Smart Parties” with Bunnell High School, an online directory of homes that pledge to host youth social gatherings with no alcohol or drug use allowed 
  • Participated in a Sticker Shock Campaign in collaboration with Stratford Police Explorers at 4 liquor stores
  • Conducted the Search Institute Student Survey at the middle and high schools
  • Awarded 6 community service and youth led programs through M.O.N.E.Y. mini-grants
  • Conducted an Asset Building Classrooms (ABC) training to 120 students and 20 teachers to introduce assets and plan ABC activities for each school
  • Co-sponsored the annual Center for Family Justice Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil and promoted a regional “Community Discussion on CT’s Opioid Addiction Crisis” led by state and local legislators and leaders
  • Offered Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings  
  • Supported BHS and SHS post proms, Healthy Kids Day at the Stratford YMCA, In the Spotlight and Help the Children Foundation
